John Guthery brings more than 30 years of private markets and advisory platform experience to Ascentix. As SVP at LPL Financial for 19 years, he built and led due diligence and manager research across a $125 billion advisory platform — scaling the alternatives business from under $300 million to $3.5 billion in annual flows across private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real assets, and structured products. His due diligence framework was cited by the SEC as a benchmark practice in its post-Madoff oversight review, and his team's centrally managed portfolio programs collectively exceeded $110 billion in assets.

His broader career spans product development at W.P. Carey — where he designed and distributed NAV REITs, BDCs, interval funds, and Reg D private offerings — alongside alternatives platform leadership at Guardian/Park Avenue Securities and Voya Financial, and digital platform architecture at FusionIQ, where he designed an integrated ETF and alternatives marketplace for RIAs and broker-dealers.

John holds the CFA designation, an MBA from Babson College, and a BA in History from Georgetown University. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society, and served as a Board Member of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives.
